Bourbon and Blues Tasting Event Returns to Terre Haute on August 30

The Terre Haute Symphony and Labor Link bring Bourbon & Blues to Hulman Center on Friday August 30, 6:30pm-9:30pm, featuring St. Louis Blues artist Brian Curran alongside Solly Burton and Brent McPike, bourbon tastings from 15 vendors, a buffet catered by Butta’s Better BBQ, and a cash bar with special event cocktails by The Verve. Guests will also be able to browse a silent auction with bourbon baskets, select a mystery gift at the Bourbon Pull, or purchase your favorite product. All proceeds from the event directly benefit the Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra’s mission of providing Great Music! Close to Home in Terre Haute and the Wabash Vally. 

Brian Curran

Brian Curran has been studying blues and fingerstyle guitar for over 20 years. He keeps his feet planted firmly in the sounds of the past but is not afraid to put his own stamp on the music he loves. He has performed at some of the region’s top venues including Off Broadway, The Pageant, B.B.'s Jazz Blues & Soups and many more. On stage Brian puts on a great show and always gets the audience involved. He is known to sometimes tell as many stories and jokes to the listeners as songs. Altogether, whether solo or with a band, you can't go wrong no matter what your taste in music might be. Going to see Brian is just a plain old fun time. Confirmed vendors include McCormick Distilling Company, Luxco, Four Roses, Deep Eddy Vodka, Twenty20 Beverage Company, Log Still Distillery, Uncle Nearest, Inc., Hotel Tango Distillery, Edrington, Sugarlands Distilling Company, St. Elmo Steak House, William Grant & Sons, Bardstown Bourbon Company, Green River Distilling Company, and more. Guests will have a selection of grilled chicken breast, pulled pork sandwich, cole slaw, baked beans, mac & cheese, corn pudding, banana pudding, and assorted cookies from the buffet.  Complimentary water and lemonade will be provided.

Tickets   

Tickets can be purchased at www.thso.org or by calling the Terre Haute Symphony office at (812) 242-8476. All tickets include a concert ticket and BBQ buffet. Standard tickets also include a bourbon tasting bracelet with 12 tastings for General Admission and 14 tastings for VIP.  VIP ticket holders are granted early entry at 5:30pm. GA entry is at 6:30pm. Ticket prices are: 

  • Standard VIP - $75 

  • Non-Bourbon VIP - $60 

  • Standard GA - $60 

  • Non-Bourbon- $45 

All Standard ticket holders must be over 21 and show ID at the door. Not a bourbon drinker? Guests can purchase a Non-Bourbon ticket and purchase their favorite drink at the cash bar.
