THSO Announces 100th Season as Oldest Professional Orchestra in Indiana

The Tere Haute Symphony Orchestra is thrilled to announce our 2025-2026 Season, Celebrate 100!, which will celebrate our 100th season as the oldest professional symphony orchestra in Indiana and welcome our new Music Director, Roger Kalia. The THSO’s 25-26 Season will feature Indian Tabla master Sandeep Das in a virtuosic concerto alongside Mahler’s massive Symphony No. 1 “Titan”, world-class pianist Fei-Fei performing Rachmaninoff’s gorgeous Piano Concerto No. 3, the return of David Bowden for our annual holiday concert in his new role as Principal Guest Conductor, a celebration of John Williams’ most beloved movie scores, and brothers Nikki and Timothy Chooi performing a Bluegrass inspired Double Concerto for two violins. 


September 13, 2025 – Tabla & Titan

Experience the virtuosity of tabla master Sandeep Das in a captivating concerto, followed by the grandeur of Mahler's Symphony No. 1. This concert seamlessly blends Indian classical rhythms with Western symphonic brilliance, offering a unique and enriching musical journey. Plus, a special commission from Composer-in-Residence Dan Powers to celebrate the THSO’s 100th Season and the introduction of our new Music Director, Roger Kalia. November 1, 2025 – Rach's Third 

Fei-Fei, piano

Renowned for her technical prowess and emotive playing, world-class pianist Fei-Fei brings Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto. No. 3 to life with passion and precision. Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 9 highlights the virtuosity of our THSO musicians in a witty and satirical work that was despised and censured by Soviet critics after its premiere in 1945. Valerie Coleman’s Seven O’clock Shout provides an uplifting opener for this concert inspired by the tireless efforts of frontline workers during the COVID-19 pandemic. 


December 6, 2025 – Celebrate the Holidays 

Enjoy an evening of joyful melodies and heartwarming classics that capture the magic of the season with the THSO and vocalist Justin John Moniz. The THSO welcomes back retired Artistic Director, David Bowden, in his new role as Principal Guest Conductor


March 28, 2026 – John Williams Celebration 

Experience the magic of John Williams' iconic compositions at a live concert! From the thrilling themes of Star Wars and Indiana Jones to the enchanting melodies of Harry Potter, this event promises a brilliant and nostalgic journey through cinematic history. Plus, the audience is invited to dress up as your favorite character featured in a John Williams movie score!


May 2, 2026 – Beethoven & Bluegrass 

Nikki & Timothy Chooi, violins

Experience an extraordinary fusion of classical and blues music with Beethoven & Bluegrass. Delight in the Bluegrass style of Seyfried's Double Concerto for Two Violins featuring Nikki and Timothy Chooi and the soulful rhythms of Clarice Assad’s Baião N’ Blues, culminating in the timeless beauty of Beethoven's Symphony No. 7. This unique concert promises a captivating and unforgettable musical exploration.

Individual Tickets   

Single tickets for individual concerts will go on sale August 11, 2025. Tickets for single concerts start at $20 for adults and $6 for youth and students for the 2025-2026 season. Student tickets are available for all students from any school or institution. 

ISU Student Tickets 

ISU students already receive free tickets to THSO concerts thanks to Indiana State University. Up to 100 ISU Student tickets are available for each concert during the 2025-2026 season.
