Presented by THSO Acting Principal Viola, Esteban Hernández Parra
Viola players have the fortune to perform on an underrepresented instrument in the symphony orchestra. The flashy popularity of the violin and the lush tone of the cello frequently overpower the gentle (yet temperamental) viola sound. This presentation will aim to guide us through the different viola repertoire, following a thread of inclusion and diversity of composers, performers, improvisers, pedagogues, and activists.
Presentation will be presented via Zoom but attendees will be able to attend an in-person presentation through OLLI. Registration available for Osher Lifelong Learning Institute members. Learn more about OLLI at https://www.indstate.edu/community-engagement/olli.
OLLI Membership required to attend live event. All presentation recordings will be uploaded to our website and YouTube channels.
