Terre Haute Symphony confirms April concert will be virtual!
The Thrill of the Orchestra!
Greatest hits for Adults, Children, & Families
April 10, 2021 at 7:30pm | ONLINE
Coming to a smart device near you, experience symphonic excerpts from GREAT music everyone should know, including Light Cavalry Overture, Harry Potter, Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, and Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man! Formatted as a kid’s concert for adults (and kids!), instrument demonstrations will be woven into the program performed by THSO principal musicians. Rossini’s electric William Tell Overture provides the exclamation point to an exciting evening!
To keep our patrons, staff, and musicians safe from the spread of COVID-19, the concert will be presented virtually online. The performance will run approximately 75 minutes and will be performed without an intermission.
Low-cost virtual tickets will be available at www.thso.org beginning March 8. Season ticket holders will receive a code via mail and email to acquire free virtual tickets.
This event is proudly sponsored by Union Health and is a featured event for the Vigo County Public Library’s Big Read program.
ABOUT THE TERRE HAUTE SYMPHONY
The Greater Wabash Valley is justifiably proud of the long and distinguished history of the orchestra–so proud, in fact, that a detailed history is included in the program provided to every audience member attending each concert. The Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra, now in its 95th season, is the oldest professional orchestra in the state of Indiana. Started as a volunteer group of musicians who provided community entertainment, the Terre Haute Symphony has evolved into a group of highly-skilled, paid professional musicians who complete auditions to demonstrate their skill level. We offer a subscription series of concerts from September through May as well as educational concerts for approximately 3,000 fourth graders from the Wabash Valley.
The organization has an all-volunteer Board of Directors comprised of community leaders and a paid staff which includes an Executive Director, Artistic Director/Conductor, Office Manager, Office Assistant, Marketing Manager, Personnel Manager, Librarian, Composer-in-Residence, and 80 professional orchestra musicians.
OUR MISSION
The mission of the Terre Haute Symphony Association (THSA) is to provide “Great Music! Close to Home.”

Providing musical educational resources to all schools in the region that will enhance the experiences at these concerts, and
Advocating for the importance of music in our community in order to sustain these concerts and educational objectives.
OUR VISION
The vision of the Terre Haute Symphony Association is to attract a diverse regional audience with engaging, high quality programming that includes the great masterworks of the orchestral repertoire, excellent pops programming, outstanding guest artists, and music of our time, especially from our own country and region.
