THSO Introduces New Chamber Concert Series

The Terre Haute Symphony Orchestra is excited to re-launch their THSO Presents! series featuring members of the THSO for intimate performances of some of the world's greatest chamber music. On October 16, 2021 and March 5, 2022, enjoy several of the most passionate, riveting, and moving musical works ever written for small ensembles. Performances on October 16 and March 5 take place at Hatfield Hall on the campus of Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology beginning at 4pm.

Audiences will experience firsthand the collaborative spontaneity that makes chamber ensembles some of the most exciting to watch. Programs will feature brass quintets, woodwind quintets, string quartets, and more.

Terre Haute Symphony Receives Generous Grant from Hollie & Anna Oakley Foundation

The Hollie and Anna Oakley Foundation has awarded the Terre Haute Symphony a generous grant of $15,000 to continue supporting the THSO’s mission to provide Great Music! Close to Home in the Wabash Valley. The grant will continue to support the symphony’s education programs including their annual Adventures in Music programs for are 4th graders and operating costs for their annual subscription series of concerts.

THSO Appoints New Concertmaster Elina Rubio

The Terre Haute Symphony is pleased to announce the appointment of Elina Rubio as Concertmaster beginning with the 2021-2022 season! Born in Elche, Spain in 1996, Elina Rubio Pentcheva, received early instruction on the violin from her mother Tania Pentcheva Boneva. At a very young age she began playing concerts in Spain, Bulgaria and Germany. During this period she worked with the Russian violinist Mikhail Bezverhny and with Roberto Valdes (Professor at the Piaget Institute in Portugal).
