Our fabulous musicians are featured in stunning double concertos including Bach’s beautiful Concerto for Oboe and Violin, the brilliant Concerto for Flute and Harp by Mozart, and Paul Whear’s moving Elegy for MLK, Jr., for Oboe and English Horn. Barber’s familiar Adagio for Strings rounds out this 75-minute program.
Our newest venue for a THSO Presents! Chamber Concert is the gorgeous Church of the Immaculate Conception at Saint Mary-of-the-Woods. This cathedral-like structure is an astonishingly beautiful space with superb acoustics. The 75-minute program will feature soprano Caroline Goodwin, harpist Melanie Mashner, and concertmaster, Erina Buchholz. Selections include Shenandoah, Schubert’s Ave Maria, The Last Rose of Summer, Mozart’s Alleluia, Vaughan Williams’ Five Variants on ‘Dives and Lazarus,’ and more lovely pieces whose sound will bloom in the richness of the acoustic space.
String Spring Fling features members of the THSO Strings and Principal Harp, Melanie Mashner, under the direction of Artistic Director, Dr. David Bowden, for an afternoon of exceptional chamber music! Relax and bask in the beauty of the lush sound of your THSO string section married to the warmth and beauty of harp vibrations. Hatfield Hall’s superb acoustics enhance the experience. The THSO welcomes back former Concertmaster, Elina Rubio, as a guest artist for this performance. Ms. Rubio will join THSO Concertmaster, Erina Buchholz, for a special duo performance!
The THSO returns to Terre Haute Brewing Company for another fun-filled evening of chamber music and brews! Mozart & Mixology will feature chamber ensembles of THSO musicians performing works by Mozart, influenced by Mozart, or written by contemporaries of Mozart. All tickets include buffet provided by Honey’s Bar and Grill. VIP and Gold ticket holders also receive a complimentary glass of beer or wine from Terre Haute Brewing Company.
The THSO welcomes Brazilian phenom, Choro Das 3, to Hatfield Hall on the campus of Rose-Hulman this November! Featuring a talented trio of sisters, audiences will enjoy their lively and soulful performance. Choro Das 3 is also excited to welcome Terre Haute musicians, Solly Burton and Brent McPike.

Enjoy several of the most passionate, riveting, and moving musical works ever written for small ensembles. Audiences will experience firsthand the collaborative spontaneity that makes chamber ensembles thrilling to watch. Program includes: Louise Farrenc's Trio, Op. 44 for clarinet, cello, and piano; George Crumb's An Idyll for the Misbegotten for flute and percussion; Ewald's Brass Quintet No. 1; and Barrett's Music for a Happy Occasion for brass quintet.
