Terre Haute Symphony Returns to Tilson Auditorium for May 1 Concert!

The THSO is headed back to its home stage at Tilson Auditorium on May 1st at 4:30pm after seeking alternative venues due to the pandemic this season. The Terre Haute Symphony will be inviting 2020-2021 season ticket holders to attend the concert in-person and will open a very limited number of single tickets if they become able. Due to social distancing requirements, the THSO has reprogrammed the concert repertoire to allow for fewer musicians on stage. The concert is titled Beethoven’s Humor and will showcase the composer’s Symphony No. 1 along with three THSO Principal musicians performing solo works.

Terre Haute Symphony Receives Generous Grant for Virtual Children’s Concert Program

The Terre Haute Symphony has received a generous grant from the Indiana Chemical Trust to fund a new and exciting spin on their annual Adventures in Music educational concerts for elementary school children in the Wabash Valley. To keep students and musicians safe from the spread of COVID-19, the THSO will present a 30-minute virtual concert in all 4th and 5th grade music classes in Vigo County the week of April 5th.

Coming to a smart device near you, experience symphonic excerpts from GREAT music everyone should know, including Light Cavalry Overture, Harry Potter, Mozart’s Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, and Copland’s Fanfare for the Common Man! Formatted as a kid’s concert for adults (and kids!), instrument demonstrations will be woven into the program performed by THSO principal musicians. Rossini’s electric William Tell Overture provides the exclamation point to an exciting evening!
